Jeuveau

BOTOX has an alternative that has been trending. The name of this product is Jeuveau.  Neurotoxin injectables or Botulinum toxin injectables are all similar but not the same.

Below are some of the neurotoxins on the market. Like fine wine, they all do the same thing, but some of the ingredients are different. Instead of differences in taste and flavor, there are differences in potency and results.

  • BOTOX is anabotulinumtoxinA
  • Dysport is abobotulinumtoxinA
  • Xeomin is incobotulinumtoxinA
  • Jeuveau is prabotulinumtoxinA

Decisions can be confusing when it comes to deciding what neurotoxin is best for you. The active compound in all these products is Botulin toxin or “BoNT”. Think about searching for an over-the-counter pain reliever and fever reducing medication such as acetaminophen at your local pharmacy. There may be many brands containing this active ingredient. Tylenol as most people know (acetaminophen) also comes from other brands such as Excedrin, FeverAll, Goody’s, Midol, and Pamprin. They are all used to do the same thing; prevent fever and pain.

Botulinum compound is what interrupts signals between nerves and muscles to relax muscles. Botulinum compounds come in different potencies. This results in the mixture having a different protein size, molecular weight, and different measurement units. The uses may be differing from absence of complexing proteins. The production, purification, and preparation process may be different as well.

These differences can affect how the botulinum compounds work on the individual, how much they cost, and the way the body metabolizes the botulinum compounds.

Why would a patient choose Jeuveau over Botox or other Botulinum compounds? Clinical evidence has not been presented; patients are reporting faster results, longer lasting results, and more natural looking results.
